Spring '11 T-Ball Has Ended

On Saturday June 4th, the Hammerheads played their final game of the season against the Eagles.  I apologize for not having any pictures or video of the last 4 games but there was so much going on that I just forgot.  Besides it was sort of fun being at the games cheering on the kids and not hiding behind a camera.  So as of the end of the season the kids final standings were 3 wins and 9 losses.  Not too bad considering we were put in as a division 1 team.  By no means were we in any way close to being #1 in our division but we also weren't last!  The kids really put in some hard work this season.

As for us well, with it being our first season with a kid in competitive sports we learned a few things.  First off, when we register her for next season one of the first things I'm going to do is ask questions about the team and the coach.  If they say that the cost of the uniform is $80 and only includes a shirt, hat, belt and socks we're out of there!  If after the first two encounters with the team the coach is late for anything we're looking for a new team.  And most of all if the team manager does not willing provide team funding and spending information.....well again we will be scouting for a different team.

With that said, this season really did have some good points for us.  Alyssa realized her abilities to play competitive sports as well as made some new friends.  Her confidence in wanting to try new things broadened and it brought us together as a family and showed that we could come together and support each other.

With the season finally finished we look forward to taking the summer off and relaxing a bit before it's time to register and begin again in the fall.  Alyssa will then be moving to the Mesquite Fast pitch Softball league where she will get two more seasons of tball before advancing to either coach pitch or machine pitch.  As for the summer, I know that she wants to do something but we're just not sure what that something is going to be yet.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from this season:
