Writing with Alyssa

It's been a while since I've posted anything that Alyssa has written.  For the most part it is because she really hasn't been bringing home her stories from school like she was and I guess that we've just been so busy lately that it's been sort of over looked.  Well, last week she did finally bring home a stack of papers full of stories and journal entries that she'd written at school.  So without further delay here are some of Alyssa's journal entries and stories that I thought were just too sweet not to share.

Weekend News by Alyssa

Yesterday I went to my friends birthday party.  We played fashion show. I was the winner. After the fashion show we ate cheese balls, pretzels, cheese, pink lemonade and chicken salad.  We played a game. It was a race. We had a tie.  We made our own head bands. We opened presents. We ate cupcakes. We got to take teacups and tea plates. My cupcake had a girl with a flower dress that matched me.  There were no, no, no, NO boys allowed.  I had the most fun I ever had.  It was in March. I think my Mom had a great time too. She was talking the whole time.  Well I was playing. It was just me and Mom for the first time.

Weekend News by Alyssa

Last Saturday I went ice skating. I wear a size eleven. I was fast. I was dragging my new friend's mom. I can stop myself. Too bad my Mom doesn't ice skate. I can do a swizzle. It does not hurt when I fall. Falling is fun. My friend is very dangerous. She goes in front of people. My Mom said I can go ice skating if I want.

Weekend News by Alyssa

Yesterday i went to the Art Museum. It was fun. I made a fairy out of foil. I did an obstacle course. I made a ring. I went with my friends.  We didn't get to play with paint.  We looked at art.

Alyssa's Extraordinary Deed by Alyssa

I gave blueberries to Nicholas. It made him make a blueberry cake. He was blue, blue, blueberry happy so he gave one to Madelyn which made her happy.  So she did five more deeds. She saw a poor man. She said in her nicest voice "I'll get you food and a drink."  Then the poor man saw a woman that last her dog.  He found it and gave it to her. She was so happy she gave the Mayor 17 cats.  It reached the whole world.

An Old Man Who Swallowed a Horse by Alyssa

There was an old man who swallowed a horse! I don't know why he swallowed a horse. Go ask your Dad.  There was an old man who swallowed a cow! He swallowed the cow to trap the horse.  I don't know why he swallowed the horse. Go ask your Dad. The next thing he ate was a goat. The goat said "baaaaaa" and the people said "he is nuts."

*This story had a picture drawn with it that was a horse and a cow each on different sides of the old man's stomach and arguing over their sides. LOL*

The Friend Beach by Alyssa

The friend beach is a wonderful place. It's a place where friends have fun together. Someone alone comes to make a  friend. "I don't have a friend" the person said. "Who lets people in?" "Everyone here will be your friend" said the man standing at the entrance. "I'll be your friend too."  "Well thank you" said the person who had no friends.

The Bad Case of Hair by Alyssa

Lucy was going to the big park. She loved dresses. She wore a plain dress. She wanted to be like everyone else.  The next thing she knew there was rainbow colored hair.  Lucy screamed. Her mother, Carmel, ran in. She screamed "you are not to go." Her face is blue and red. Lucy's hair turned red and blue. She wore a dress. She is cursed.

Writing With Alyssa Part 2

Alyssa has been quite the busy bee lately at school when it comes to her writing.  Here are a few of her latest that I'd like to share with everyone:

Ladybugs in Love!
Early one morning Kala-o-wea wrote a message to Homoko. It said "Tomatos are red, raspberries are blue, Homoko, I love you!"  When Homoka found it he wrote one too. "I love the way you shine, put on your line. Oh, Kala-o-wea, where are you? Love, Homoko"

When Kala-o-wea saw this she wrote one. "Kissing a hand, taking a stand, you're my finace. Sincerely, Kala-o-wea" When Homoko saw this he wrote one. "Your hand is so grand, so why don't you stand? Love, Homoko"

Day after night the two wondered if they would see each other. One day they both wondered where each other were. No one had heard or seen a ladybug in real life.

When Homoko thought this he wrote something. "Kala-o-wea where are you? Write a message of where you are." When Kala-o-wea saw this she wrote a message. "Homoko, My Mom said I can't play or go out somewhere. I can't see my love either." When Homoko saw this he cried.

On a rainy day Kala-o-wea came out to play. Homoko was not allowed to play. Homoko's Mom came to see him. She said "No, no, no, you may not go to see her." "Come on now!" said Homoko. His Dad came and said "No, no, no,no,no!"

The next day he got to see her and they lived happily ever after.

My Weekend
On the weekend I went to see Christmas lights. We saw Santa's town. We sat on Santa's sleigh and chair. We saw where Jesus was born. We saw a lot of lights and we saw big humungus presents. We saw things we could put our heads through. We saw a train. We went over bridges. We took pictures. We went in everything. We even went in an igloo and we saw a mailbox that said "Santa's Mail". We saw Nutcrackers.

When we went to where Jesus was born Cayden was in the cradle. We put our heads through boards and trains. We even sat on the big presents. It was fun.

5 Little Elves
Five little elves fixing toys,
Five little elves making toys,
One got punished and ran away.

Four little elves fixing, toys,
Four little elves making toys,
One got punished and ran away.

Three little elves fixing toys,
Three little elves making toys,
One got punished and ran away.

Two little elves fixing toys,
Two little elves making toys,
One got punished and ran away.

One little elf fixing toys,
One little elf making toys,
One got punished and ran away.

Now there are no more elves to make the toys :(

Christmas
People around the world call Santa different names like St. Nick, Dad of Christmas and Father of Christmas. Mrs. Clause has many too. Mother Christmas and Mom of Christmas. But the Christmas spirit is love, family and friends. Santa gives coal to bad boys and girls.

A Letter to Santa
Dear Santa,
May I have The Nutcracker playset and movie? Sorry, I mess up a lot writing. May I have a My Password Journal? May I have a nutcracker ballerina? May I have a gumball machine and a computer? My Mom, Dad, Me and brothers don't have money, just cents. Can you make them for me?

Love,
Alyssa
P.S. Do you really give out coal?

Writing with Alyssa

Each day at school Alyssa's class has what they call their Writer's Workshop Time.  This time is for the students to write anything that they can imagine down.  The writings can be about anything the choose whether it's about what they've done this past week, something they are planning to do, a story that they make up and even a letter to someone.  Here I would like to share with you some of the most recent things that Alyssa has written.  Some are very heartfelt while others are just really imaniginitive and off the wall. I hope that you enjoy!

Written 10/15/10:

Every weekend me and my brothers look at the cloulds.  My big brother said "Do you like nature?". I said "yes" to him. "How about you?" He said "I do". Then we saw some birds. "I see a bird" I said. "I do not" said my big brother. My little brother said "where are they?". Me and my big brother laughed. It was fun.

No date:
One day at night two spooky ghosts came out at 7:00pm. Big Brother got to drive. We saw a vampire on the way home so he called my Mom and Dad. Then the vampire got in the car. He did not get me but he got my big brother plus he got Mom and Dad. So I was on my own.

When I grew up I was fighting vampires. It was hard work but fun. Then one day a vampire bit me and I died. My babies called me one night. I tried not to bite the but I still did. So I tried to wear it off but when it wore off I became a warewolf!

Written 10/25/10:
Once upon a time there was a vampire. He liked to eat spaghetti and meatballs but his favorite food was blood. One Halloween night he looked for something to eat that had blood in it.  Then he found a goofy goat and farmer and bit them. Then he found another man and dog to eat. He bit into them. Then he saw a ghost and it looked like a girl and he tried to bite the ghost, but the ghost bit him and he died again and was a zombie and he as never seen again.

There was a new vampire in town and he did the same thing over and over again. It never ended. It kept going. In 1982 the vampire died.

There was a haunted house. A kid named Kitla was brave and one day she went into the haunted house and said "AHHHHHHHHH" and she ran all the way home. Then another kid came along. His name was Nollis. He never ever got scared but he could not go in because he had a cold.

My Aunt Stephanie by Alyssa  written 12/30/10
In the next two weeks my Aunt Stephanie is coming. We are going to ride the Polar Express and other stuff like that. I am excited. I can't wait. I love her more than anyone. She is my favorite family member. I love her.

My Aunt is nice. When I say nice I mean reeaaaallllly nice. She is not like any other aunt. I loooove her sooooo much. How would you say you love her? I would say I LOVE YOU!

Last year my Aunt came for my birthday. She stayed 'till Monday. We played lots of games! Next year she might come. She is rrreeealllly nice! I imagine her as a butterfly.
